Rise in Sale of AusPen Eco-friendly Markers

The ways shoppers are searching for innovative, earth-friendly and cost-effective gifts have made holiday gift-giving go green. EcoSmart Products recently compiled sales trends, which show a significant increase in the giving of green holiday and teacher-appreciation gifts. AusPen eco-friendly markers are distributed by EcoSmart Products.

In a press release, Kerry Tuttle of AusPen markers said, “Ongoing concern about the environment, the search for distinctive gifts, and a heightened awareness of green alternatives to products and services has translated into seasonal sales booms.”

Several factors can be attributed to the surge in green gift-buying to keep up with the projections that green consumerism is on the rise. Customers are more likely to search online for more sustainable and less resource-intensive products as they are more informed of the true environmental cost of products. According to Tuttle, the consumers feel a great sense of pride when they find a green product which performs as well or better than the regular product.

A green gift can help the recipient stand out in an important way. This is similar to the way businesses or schools differentiate themselves with the help of greenness. Tuttle added that offering a quality non-toxic product gives a nice personal touch. The recipient will be able to protect their health from harmful chemicals. They will be able to use the product daily and also help to tread lighter on the earth.

Cost and the concept of value are other factors which have influenced green holiday gift-buying. A shift in mindsets has led to not think of eco-friendly products as premium-priced luxury items. Most re-useable products are actually more cost effective than the disposable kind has now been realized.

In a press release, Tuttle said, “With such an emphasis on using more sustainable products, and consuming fewer natural resources, it has been no surprise to us that green gift-giving continues to be on trend. Our sales numbers attributed to green holiday giving have increased over 150 percent since 2008.”

According to Tuttle, if the consumers have access to eco-friendly products online, sure-shot growth is expected for eco gift-giving. A 4 percent increase in e-commerce spending during the last year’s holiday season as compared to the 2008 holiday season has been reported by comScore (News - Alert).
