Pantek Receives Green Plus Certification

In the third quarter of 2010, full Green Plus Certification was earned by four organizations. One of the organizations to earn the Green Plus Certification is Pantek Incorporated, according to an announcement made by the Institute for Sustainable Development.

Dedication of smaller enterprises to triple bottom line sustainability is recognized by the Institute for Sustainable Development's Green Plus program. The smaller enterprises’ business, environmental and community practices are measured for the same. The highest level of recognition from the Institute is the Green Plus Certification.

In a release, Barry Zack, president of Pantek, said, “Going through Green Plus certification really opened our eyes to sustainability issues and to the environmental cost of doing business. Now that we know, we’re taking the necessary steps to minimize that cost – because it’s the right thing to do.”

In 2008, Pantek moved to a new building. Since then, a strong commitment toward sustainability and improving their green practices has been showed by Pantek. The amount of available natural light was the major consideration for Pantek while choosing a location from their new offices. A program for employees was also developed by Pantek to reduce environmental strain from commuting. Under this program, employees demonstrating excellence in their work were allowed to work from home for one or more day per week. Power efficient computers with rated energy saving power supplies have also been used by Pantek.

In a release, Linda Zack, vice president of marketing for Pantek, said, "We're proud of the progress we've made in reducing our environmental impact, and we'll work diligently to expand our efforts. We've cut our carbon footprint significantly by making improvements in our office and our hosting center, by reducing employee commutes through work-at-home programs, and made a corporate commitment to improving the local environment through tree planting."
