Electronic Recycling Collection Event to Promote Green Recycling Practices

As the leading full-service recycling companies in the nation, AERC Recycling Solutions organized a free Electronic Recycling Collection Event in Sebastian, Fla., so as to commemorate America Recycles Day. AERC sponsored the event, which was co-sponsored by Indian River County, so as to promote responsible recycling practices for a healthier tomorrow.

The event was attended by hundreds of Indian River County residents who participated by disposing their unwanted electronics which would have otherwise ended up in Florida landfills.

Around 18,113 pounds of recyclable materials was collected by AERC at the Sebastian event alone while 196,378 pounds of disposed electronics were kept out of the landfill since the start of the year. Electronics such as printers, CPUs, computer monitors, laptops, internal computer components, telephones, telecommunication equipment, cameras, hand held games, computer accessories and peripherals, cables, wires and other equipments formed the major portion of the recyclable items including Universal Waste materials such as lamps and batteries.

In a press release, Lindsay Landmesser, vice president of Sales and Marketing, said, “AERC operates five Electronics Processing facilities, all dedicated to providing convenience and expert consulting to handle e-waste issues. Building trusted relationships and holding collections events in cities nationwide has lead to safer environmental choices such as those made by Indian River County residents and area business owners.”

With the Zero-Waste-to-Landfill Policy on all recycling electronics, AERC destroys all information from any data storage devices collected. To help drive the cause of convenient recycling solutions, AERC is conducting the 2010 AERC How and Why Businesses Recycle Survey, where the participants will have the chance to win an iPad.

Committed to a green world, AERC Recycling Solutions helps clients in proper management of end-of-life assets, including those hazardous sensitive data and components. AERC’s comprehensive services include recycling solutions for troublesome, dangerous waste such as lamps, ballast, batteries, electronic scrap and mercury containing material. The company specializes in eliminating environmental liability, while reducing labor, paperwork and associated cost.

Through its partnerships with clients, AERC provides unmatched convenience, regulatory compliance and expert consulting to handle Electronic Waste issues.
