Enertek Solutions Introduces Lithium Energy Storage System

Enertek Solutions, Inc., a provider of high-tech battery power alternatives for stationary cell towers, solar, wind and the heavy-duty transportation industry, introduced its latest Lithium battery energy-storage system. The company carried out comprehensive lab and field testing before launching its new MP-100 and MP-150 Lithium battery packs, both of which have been made available in 12V, 24V and 48V variants.

The Lithium battery packs offered by Enertek Solutions are modular, scalable and safer; and can be implemented in solar, wind and telecommunications as well as police and fire emergency equipment energy storage. Users can conveniently configure the energy-storage systems manufactured by Enertek Solutions, Inc., according to their required voltage; and don’t need any umbilical cords or wires involved to change desired voltage due to an internal battery management system (BMS) incorporated within these products.

They can also program the voltage at the manufacturing level right while placing the order itself, and don’t need the assistance of a field engineer for resetting energy capabilities should the parameters change.

Equipped with RS-232, RS-485, CAN-bus, Modified Bus or Ethernet communications, a PC graphical user interface (GUI) and data log functionality, the smarter battery system enables convenient communication for remote monitoring with full technical support resources. All the Lithium battery packs offered by Enertek Solutions are equipped with ‘Plug-n-Play’ capabilities, which help the customers in manipulating power and energy-storage specifications according to their needs.

Optimizing the individual large-format cell performance, the advanced BMS in each system improves proprietary safety protocols and automatically monitors and tightly balances individual cells to within 10 mV. The device features a standard set of output parameters that enables the users to quickly set it up, while they can alternatively program its customizable features as well. The company provides a number of other products as well, such as InfiniGen, which offer ultra high-power and high energy density cell capacity along with different voltage options.

In May 2010, Saft (News - Alert), a dealer in high technology batteries, announced that its Saft Li-ion or “lithium-ion” battery technology was providing the energy storage at the heart of ABB’s new SVC Light concept. The lithium-ion electrochemistry involves the use of lithium insertion compounds, in which the negative electrode or ‘anode’ is graphite and the positive electrode or ‘cathode’ is a lithium-bearing metal compound. Li-ion cells have an exceptional cycling aptitude owing to the stable electrode structure, as charging and discharging involves exchange of lithium ions between the electrodes via the electrolyte.
