Cambridge Broadband Networks, has been awarded the "Fastest growing larger company" at this year's Cleantech Connect Awards held in London. Organized by leading investment bank GP Bullhound, with Schroders Private Banking as a premium sponsor, the Cleantech Connect awards celebrate innovation and growth within clean and green technology with this year's events being held at Sketch.
This was the first time that Cambridge Broadband Networks (News - Alert) went to the ceremony as award recipients. The company was initially invited to present its VectaStar point-to-multipoint backhaul solution to a panel of judges including Jigar Shah, CEO of Carbon War Room, and Richard Youngman, managing director Europe, Cleantech Group with the award confirmed at a ceremony held on Wednesday night.
"Mobile backhaul is one of the most critical elements of any mobile network, but it is also power hungry and resource intensive,” said Graham Peel, CEO of Cambridge Broadband Networks, in a press release. “As a company, we took a conscious decision to better equip our customers with a backhaul solution that not only exceeds the demands placed on mobile networks by data traffic, but also one that significantly reduces power consumption and is efficient in its use of resources."
VectaStar backhaul networks are developed using point-to-multipoint architecture and require half as many radios as the legacy point-to-point equivalent with significant increases in sector capacity and throughout, while getting deployed. Owing to this, Cambridge Broadband Networks is the market leader in point-to-multipoint technology and, at a time when mobile operators are distinctly aware of the need to upgrade their networks, VectaStar offers a flexible, cost-saving solution with a cleantech edge.
