Cambrios' ClearOhm™ Coating Material Selected by CN Innovations to Develop New Line of Touch Sensor Modules
SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
CN
Innovations (CNI), well known for developing touch sensors included
in many devices including for top brand mobile device makers, is
partnering with Cambrios
Technologies Corporation to enter the market for designing and
manufacturing complete touch sensor modules. CNI will use its
properiatary laser patterning equipment to manufacture touch sensors for
phones, tablets, ultrabooks and All-In-One computers starting in the
first quarter of 2013. Cambrios will showcase Ultrabook-sized touch
sensors manufactured by CNI and including Cambrios' ClearOhm™ coating
material at the 2013 International CES (News - Alert), January 8 - 11, 2013 in Las
Vegas.
"We believe the combination of Cambrios' ClearOhm coating material and
CNI's proprietary manufacturing processes will offer ODMs and OEMs an
important new resource," said John LeMoncheck, President and CEO of
Cambrios. "This new relationship further expands our partner ecosystem
and represents another proof point that ODMs and OEMs are eager to move
away from traditional conductive materials to new, innovative materials
that offer superior conductive performance as well as enble a new
generation of products."
In addition to producing a wide range of cover lens, glass coatings, and
capacitive touch panels, CNI maintains a metal injection molding, metal
processing and surface treatment operation, as well as produces window
films and optical components. CNI is part of the Chungnam Group of
Companies, headquartered in Hong Kong.
"Cambrios' ClearOhm coating material is ideal to combine with CNI
proprietary laser patterning to create high-quality touch sensor
modules," said Charles Chong, Managing Director of CNI. "We are
continuously seeking out new innovations with the goal of improving the
performance and cost effectiveness of our panels, and Cambrios'
technology represents an important advancement in transparent conductive
materials."
Cambrios' ClearOhm coating material enables development of
high-conductivity transparent film ranging from 10 to 300 Ohms/square
with superior optical performance. It offers significantly higher
optical and electrical performance than competitive technologies, such
as indium tin oxide (ITO), in current applications such as touchscreens.
Touch sensors based on ClearOhm Ink are more cost effective than
existing technologies, thus allowing faster mass-market adoption of
touch-enabled tablets, laptops, Ultrabooks and All-in-One computers.

About Cambrios:
Cambrios leads the industry in providing solutions based on proprietary,
innovative technologies for consumer electronics markets using
nanotechnology. Its breakthrough transparent conductor products,
available today, simplify electronics manufacturing processes and
improve end-product cost and performance for current and next-generation
consumer devices such as large area and flexible touch and other high
conductivity, optically clear applications. The company's first product,
its ClearOhm coating material, produces a transparent, conductive film
by wet processing with significantly higher optical and electrical
performance than currently used materials such as ITO. Applications of
ClearOhm coating material include transparent electrodes for touch
screens, EMI shielding, OLED displays, e-paper, OLED lighting and thin
film photovoltaics.
Cambrios is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with offices in Japan
and Taiwan.
About CN Innovations:
CN Innovations is a specialist in material science precision
engineering, aesthetics, green technologies, and energy. The company
offers effective technical and supply chain solutions to major
industries.
ClearOhmTM is a trademark of Cambrios Technologies
Corporation.
