RazorInsights Selects Health Language, Inc. to Streamline Physician Workflows and Meet Stage 2 Meaningful Use Criteria
DENVER --(Business Wire)--
Health
Language, Inc. (HLI), the global leader in healthcare terminology
management, today announced that RazorInsights,
a leading provider of health IT solutions for rural, critical-access and
community hospitals, has selected its Language Engine (LE) and provider
friendly terminology (PFT) to help providers more easily search for and
select problems to achieve compliance with Stage 2 Meaningful Use
regulations.
RazorInsights will incorporate HLI's software into its electronic health
record (EHR) system to support standard terminologies such as SNOMED CT,
ICD-9, and ICD-10. The LE and PFT will work in tandem to ease the
documentation process for physicians; the LE automatically maps, stores
and updates data in the standard codes, while the PFT allows clinicians
to use familiar expressions when searching for the codes.
"Due to their limited resources, clinicians in rural hospitals can
greatly benefit from simplified methods for documenting problems and
diagnoses in order to achieve Meaningful Use and ultimately improve
patient care," said Reed Liggin, R.Ph, MBA, president of RazorInsights.
"This partnership enables us to alleviate some of the provider burden as
they transition to an electronic environment by supporting a single,
integrate database from which they can access clinical and financial
data more easily and accurately. We also look forward to working with
Health Language as we expand into future markets."
RazorInsights selected Health Language due to the company's reputation
as an industry leader in terminology management, the extensive library
of provider-friendly synonyms linked to standards and the high quality
search algorithms and mappings. By integrating HLI's software with its
EHR systems, RazorInsights will enable its providers to:
-
Leverage clinical synonyms such as "afib" and "PNA" to search for
problems and diagnoses;
-
Record problems more easily in SNOMED CT in order to meet Stage 2
Meaningful Use requirements;
-
Leverage mappings to ICD-9 and ICD-10 to minimize the ICD-10 learning
curve and ensure accurate reimbursement; and
-
Minimize the number of clicks in order to streamline clinician
workflow and enhance productivity.
"In a value-based healthcare setting, hospitals need more than quick
fixes for documentation and workflow," said Brian McDonald, executive
vice president and chief financial officer at Health Language. "With the
Language Engine and provider friendly terminology in place,
RazorInsights' clients are poised to deliver a higher quality of care
long beyond Stage 2 Meaningful Use."
