Southern Ideal Home Show back in Raleigh Sept. 24-26
RALEIGH, Sep 07, 2010 (The Wilson Daily Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
When the Southern Ideal Home Show returns to Raleigh's N.C. State Fairgrounds Sept. 24-26, it will fill every inch of the space for an event that is more just a home show. While it features the latest interior design and outdoor ideas, it also showcases the industry's top experts with hands-on seminars, family-friendly entertainment presentations and more.
As one of the oldest and largest consumer shows in the Triangle, the show features more than 300 experts who will share secrets to home and garden success.
This year's fall edition includes the following:
Free antique appraisals: What's it worth? Those who have wondered whether Aunt Margie's antique china is worth enough to make it a treasured heirloom can get expert advice from renowned appraiser Dr. Lori.
Get in the Garden: Frequent HGTV contributor The Renegade Gardener (aka Don Engebretson) will bring his lively presentations on container gardens to the show.
High Flying Canines: The Frisbees and fur will be flying all three days of the show when the Hyperdogs Frisbee Team brings its high energy, family-friendly performance to the fairgrounds. These dogs perform gravity-defying feats that include running, jumping and flying through the air.
He Builds It -- Then He Cooks In It: Eddie Casanave, owner of Distinctive Remodeling, has added a new twist to his kitchen remodeling projects. Not only does he remodel kitchens ... he can cook too. At the show, he'll be sharing remodeling and culinary tips with guests.
Win Big: The fall edition of the show also features the lush Belgard Landscapers' Challenge where show guests vote on their favorite garden created by the Triangle's most talented landscapers -- and one lucky guest will win $10,000 worth of hardscape products. Additionally, Ferguson, Kohler, Jenn-Air are giving away $5,000 worth of Kohler products and $5,000 in Jenn-Air product exclusively from Ferguson.
Live Green: Inside the Living Green Pavilion, guests can find solutions for environmentally friendly products like solar energy, water conservation, green insulation and more. Experts will provide tips for how to make homes more energy-efficient.
Shop for a Cause: The Habitat for Humanity ReStore Center Yard Sale will feature unique pieces of furniture and building materials prices of up to 70 percent of retail -- and proceeds go to support a great cause.
Compare and Save: The hottest home improvement products can be found all under one roof, allowing for guests to shop and compare with one-stop-shopping. As a bonus, most vendors offer exclusive show-only specials to save money.
Show hours are Friday noon-9 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $9 at the door and free for children under 15 years of age (with paying adult).
