The Trust is also using its video conferencing solution to deliver new government information governance and health and safety training to staff and volunteers across the UK.

Without the available bandwidth or budget to build its own video conferencing network, Terrence Higgins Trust turned to mvision who recommended and installed Cisco-TANDBERG desktop units across 18 of the charity's offices, all connected to the mvision dedicated network. This enables video conferencing to be run completely independently of the main IT network at Terrence Higgins Trust, using separate bandwidth and connectivity.
Using a managed service has not only eliminated the technical hurdles commonplace with video conferencing, but allows the users to get help at the touch of a button. The cost is operational rather than a capital expense, so it is also easier for Williamson to predict, manage and justify on the balance sheet too. It also meant that a quick deployment was possible; just two months from decision to going live.

Almost half of the 400-strong team are now regular users of the managed video conferencing service at the Charity, and demand continues to grow. Over the coming months, Terrence Higgins Trust plans to deploy a Cisco-TANDBERG Content Server for the chief executive to record messages and sessions for the entire team and international partners to view on-demand.
