'BT wins 7-year contract from RIA Novosti'

Feb 10, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- BT won a seven-year contract with Russian news agency RIA Novosti to connect its global press centres and news bureaus. In a separate agreement, RIA Novosti has also joined the BT Radianz community to offer its own news channel. RIA Novosti international news bureaus in 24 countries will be connected to the agency's headquarters in Moscow using BT's MPLS network. Global news bureaus and press centres of RIA Novosti will use the BT network to deliver new client services and faciltate inter-office data exchange. Migration to the BT network also represents the agency's move towards unified communications and collaboration, based on telepresence and videoconferencing services. In a separate contract, RIA Novosti joined the BT Radianz community of over 400 application providers that reach out to over 14,000 member locations around the world using the BT Radianz shared market infrastructure that is dedicated to the financial services sector. This move allows RIA Novosti to extend its client base by reaching new international customers, which include other news agencies, TV and radio stations, online and offline publications as well as businesses and government organisations.
