Concert Launches Concert Close Green IT Deployment Program

Dec 14, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Concert Technologies announced it has launched its Green IT Deployment Program, "Concert Close".

According to Concert Technologies, this environmentally-friendly deployment program reduces the consumption of fuel and associated emissions of deployed services by up to 70 percent for multi-location projects, as compared to industry averages. Concert Close supports the president's initiatives of extending broadband to the nation's most rural areas and providing green-conscious industry services.

The Concert Close Green IT Deployment Program specifies the methodology by which nationwide and international multi-location projects are delivered with particular focus on reducing gas and energy consumption as well as the industry's carbon emissions footprint.

"According to the [Environmental Protection Agency], light trucks account for 62 percent of greenhouse gas emissions," said Dan Murray, VP at Kentrox, in a recent Telephony Online article series by journalist Carol Wilson. "If a wireless provider with a fleet of 1000 trucks was able to eliminate three truck rolls a week. That would represent a savings of 3.3 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions." Addressing this and similar environmental concerns, Concert Close specifically limits travel distances for each truck roll by performing 90 percent of its national rollouts within 20 miles one-way for urban areas and 40 miles one-way for rural areas. This is primarily accomplished by employing the Local Multi-Service Green IT Deployment Method explained in our technology rollout video.

Concert Technologies is a privately-held technology service company focused on technology deployments for government, commercial and international organizations. The company implements, installs and manages multi-site, multi-service, multi-technology infrastructure projects.
