Love Affair in Slizer, Vee Album

Nov 23, 2009 (Mmegi/The Reporter/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- Dance stars Vee and Slizer picked the theme of passion in their first collaboration work released last week, but Vee has claimed playing lovers would not rub his love of many years, Kagiso, the wrong way.

Vee and Kagiso have a baby boy together, Elisha, whom the pint-sized Taku-Taku star sings about in his 2009 album, Mamacita.

Anyone listening to the new collaboration by Slizer and Vee would be forgiven for concluding that the duo might be lovebirds. The stars proclaim undying love for each other in the title song, Tsiki-Tsiki, Ma14, and Botshelo, but Vee on Friday said there was nothing to it, except that they were exploring the concept of love in the album. " I talked to my fiancee about the concept of the album, even before we started recording it. She understands. In fact she was wondering why in some songs the theme is not carried through. She is used to seeing me posing with girls in the music videos and stuff, she understands this industry very well," Vee told Showtime. He also says he does not expect any trouble from Slizer's boyfriend.

" I know him, we are buddies; so I do not expect any trouble from someone fighting me over Slizer, because of the album," Vee added. The collaboration also features Botswana's Big Brother Revolution (BBR) housemate, Kaone, of Kanye, demonstrating his eloquence in Tswana poetry. He is featured in the title track, Tsiki-Tsiki.

But the song that could have a crosscutting appeal is Ma-14, an Afro-pop song so wonderfully woven. It allows Slizer to really project her silver vocals with creativity. In particular the chorus there is quite impressive. House-kwasa lovers would fall in love immediately with tracks such as Chebe-Chebe, Tsiki-Tsiki and Do Re Mi, featuring Franco.
