Cabinet NG Extends Online Document Management to QuickBooks
(Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HUNTSVILLE, AL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/28/09 --
Cabinet NG (CNG), provider of document
management and workflow software, today announced a complete document
management solution that supports filing QuickBooks documents locally or in
a hosted environment. When adding CNG-SAFE (CNG's Shared Access Filing
Environment) to QuickBooks, businesses will have everything they need in
their arsenal to increase productivity, reduce paper consumption, and meet
compliance requirements.
"Some users will find the document management feature built into the latest
version of QuickBooks is satisfactory for filing transaction related
documents over the Internet. Others may view it as falling short from what
is already available to QuickBooks users through the Intuit Developers
Network," said Andrew Bailey, President of CNG. "Managing documents is a
business need, not just a function of accounting. CNG is pleased to
announce we are now able to extend the management of documents in a hosted
environment to the QuickBooks community."
CNG was the first Intuit Developers Network (IDN) Partner to offer
integrated document management for QuickBooks and remains a charter Gold
member. QuickBooks users can apply the CNG-SAFE document management system
to securely manage documents across their entire business. In addition,
CNG-SAFE can accelerate business processes by automating the flow of
documents as part of its integral workflow capabilities. CNG-SAFE supports
the customer's preference of operating document management as a local or
online hosted solution.
Companies that select CNG while using Quickbooks will enjoy the rich
document management underpinnings of CNG-SAFE, which can store and manage
virtually any document format. It includes flexible security, workflow
management, activity tracking, and scales to fit the needs of growing
companies. For QuickBooks 2010 users, CNG-SAFE provides the following
features not available through Intuit:
-- Automated workflow
-- Full text, index and keyword search
-- Security classes
-- Retention policies
-- Custom filing templates
-- Batch entering of data
-- Audit trail of user activity
-- Version control
-- Company-wide document management
-- The choice of local or online storage of documents
QuickBooks 2010 starts you off with 100MB of storage, or roughly 4,000
pages of document storage. Additional storage can be applied in .1G
increments. CNG's hosted version, CNG-ONLINE, comes with 5GB of storage and
can be incremented in 1GB steps. When CNG-SAFE is installed at the
customer's premises, documents are stored on the local server and storage
is added by the user.
"It's a matter of customer preference. Do businesses need to manage
documents outside the accounting department, are they comfortable storing
documents across the Internet, do they need a system to automate their
document processes?" said Bailey. "CNG has solutions to meet all these
needs and more. We are proud of our relationship with Intuit and the award
winning products we've been providing the QuickBooks community since 2004."
