Power Architecture(R) Presentations and Multicore and Virtualization Demonstrations Focus of DesignCon Conference
(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SANTA CLARA, CA, January 28 / MARKET WIRE/ --
Power Architecture? on multicore and
virtualization presentations and demonstrations from Power.org and its
member companies will take center stage at the DesignCon Conference
February 2 - 5, 2009. The event, where Power.org is an Associate Sponsor,
will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
"This highly visible participation in DesignCon underscores the strength of
our eco-system and the continued growth of Power Architecture technology
throughout the embedded industry," said Fawzi Behmann, Marketing Committee
Chair for Power.org.
During the conference, attendees will have access to the latest design
tips, technology insights and demonstrations of Power Architecture
technology. Power.org, for the first time as an associate sponsor, is
collaborating with IEC to deliver to attendees through member company
participation the following programs:
-- A Power Architecture tutorial session TF-MP5, "Multicore and
Virtualization Key Enablers For Next Generation Network Architecture,"
will take place on February 2nd, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. This session
will focus on the need for multicore in response to future high
performance requirements and in enabling the next-generation class of
applications and services with rich multimedia content. A special
panel of experts from Freescale, IBM, Wind River and Virtutech will
explore the needs of multicore SoC and enablement at different stages
from Instruction Set Architecture (ISA), Hypervisor, OS, debugging,
simulations and IPs. The session links the talk to Power.org standards
activities including Mulitcore/Virtualization based on Power
Architecture.
-- Power Architecture Technology Showcase at booth #753, February 3rd - 4th
from 12:00 noon - 6:30 p.m., including special demonstrations on
High-performance green embedded computing by Freescale, Virtutech Simics
for Multicore debug, and embedded virtualization on Power Architecture
by Wind River.
-- A full-day session, "Power Architecture Ecosystem Solution Offerings" to
be held in Room #212 on February 5th from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., will
feature Power.org members Cadence, CodeSourcery, Freescale, Green Hills,
IPextreme, Synopsys, Virtutech and Wind River. Each company will
present its ecosystem solution offerings based on Power Architecture
technology. Attendees are requested to register for this session at
