Panasonic (News - Alert) Enterprise Solutions Company recently announced in a press release that it will join forces with Renewable Social Benefit Funds (RSB Funds), an alternative energy company, to carry out solar power generation installation at the premises of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in Agoura Hills, CA (News - Alert).

The 115 kilowatt installation will make Hilton Foundation’s campus more energy efficient and eco-friendly. The Foundation currently conducts strategic initiatives in five priority areas: providing safe water, ending chronic homelessness, preventing substance abuse, caring for vulnerable children, and extending Conrad Hilton's support for the work of Catholic Sisters.

“We are pleased to be working with Renewable Social Benefit Funds and Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company on this solar project, as this is part of our entire campus strategy to lower our carbon footprint,” said Patrick J. Modugno, vice president of Administration and chief financial officer, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.  “Renewable Social Benefit Funds' financing will allow us to allocate assets to other charitable purposes, a double win for the Foundation.”

According to Jonathan Jaffrey, president of RSB Funds, the project will help the company demonstrate the benefits of clean energy. Commenting on its first assignment in collaboration with Panasonic, Jaffrey said that RSB is “pleased to be working with Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company in partnering with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation on this leading renewable energy project.”

In other news, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation recently announced that Strive Masiyiwa, an African humanitarian, businessman and cell phone professional who founded Econet Wireless, has accepted its invitation to serve on the Prize jury, beginning with selection of the 2012 recipient this winter. The company said that he is replacing Olara Otunnu, a former United Nations Under-Secretary and Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, whose term has ended.
