GreenSimian Extends Smartphone Battery Life with SolMate Power Casing

GreenSimian has developed a new smartphone power casing software solution to address the power problems of portable devices. Consumers leveraging the new SolMate casing will benefit from extended battery life for their smartphones as the new offering from GreenSimian has been designed with multiple power harvesting options which include solar electricity, inductive charging and battery storage as well as an energy management software which effectively address portable power problems.

In a release, Jamie Wojcik, GreenSimian CTO and co-founder, said that, “SolMate is not another iPhone (News - Alert) casing. It's a seductive combination of software, microelectronics, and power-generating semi-conductors that take mobile power to a new level.”

The form-fitting SolMate casing for iPhone 4/4S extends unmatched portable power from a single aluminium block and has been harnessed to provide multiple power harvesting options. These include the Qi (Chee) inductive charging chip which is a robust 18 percent efficient solar cell, in addition to a custom 1600 mA lithium-ion battery as well as power management electronics and software which in essence mirror capabilities delivered by utility-scale solar power plants.

While the solar technology offering included in the SolMate casing will provide up to 30 percent extra uptime of the iPhone battery, the casing’s backup battery has been designed to effectively double the battery life for the iPhone.

Adam Benzion, GreenSimian's co-founder and CEO, said that, “We would like to invite technology enthusiasts to pre-order SolMate via our Kickstarter.com project dubbed SolMate: iPhone's Hottest Solar, Inductive and Battery Case.”

GreenSimian is also planning on releasing a number of new products this year which have all been designed to deliver on the expectations of smartphone users in need of “on-the-go” power solutions.

Seattle-based GreenSimian has been working on developing products that can change the landscape of renewable portable power. Delivering performance and reliability, the company’s products are designed to address power issues faced by gadget lovers constantly on the go.
