Powermat, specializing in wireless charging solutions, announced the availability of a dedicated wireless charging solution for the T-Mobile (News - Alert) myTouch 4G Slide.

In a release Ran Poliakine, Powermat CEO said, “We are delighted to work closely with T-Mobile to support the new T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide as it becomes available to consumers.”

“The opportunity to collaborate with T-Mobile and introduce Powermat technology with the launch of the myTouch 4G Slide helps expand the nationwide availability of wireless charging,” added Poliakine.

According to company sources this launch coincides with in-store availability of the new Android (News - Alert)-powered smartphone the myTouch 4G Slide. The new T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide features a camera with zero shutter lag, backside illuminated sensor besides adding several premium digital camera features that offers a suitable replacement for digital point and shoot camera.

Also it was revealed that the Powermat solution will allow users to wirelessly charge their Smartphones by replacing the battery cover on the device with a Powermat receiver that looks and feels like the smartphone’s original battery cover.

The one time replacement helps customers to ‘drop and charge’ their myTouch 4G Slide wirelessly on any Powermat, explained company sources.

Customers will benefit a lot from the charging device as it eliminates the need to carry a charger besides eliminating use of wires and the task of charging their phones regularly.

The Powermat wireless charging solution for the myTouch 4G Slide will be sold exclusively by T-Mobile. More such Powermat wireless charging support products for devices from T-Mobile will be released in the future revealed officials.

Powermat wireless charging solutions are made available on mainstream retail channels. Powermat allows users to enable their favorite electronic devices with a Powermat receiver and then use it to charge up to three devices by placing on the charging mat for fast and effective wireless charging.  

Officials confirmed that the Powermat technology is scalable and embeddable and hence can be built directly into electronic devices and also can be kept on any surface to create wireless energy “hubs” within homes, automobiles, airports, offices and so on.

In related company news GM announced investments in Powermat GM. Powermat in January 2011 announced a $5 million investment from the new GM Ventures subsidiary, which could put Powermat inductive charging in many Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac cars as soon as mid-2012.
