Sky Power Solutions, a global provider of lithium-powered batteries, announced that it formed its engineering alliance with Li-ion Motors Corporation, makers of electric supercar, for the development of the Sky Power Residential, a concentrated solar collector electric generation system.

The alliance is leveraging the Li-ion Motors’ latest achievement of a new milestone; a 187 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) with their all electric WAVE (News - Alert) II.

Besides lithium batteries, Sky Power Solutions develops residential concentrated solar collectors. The company has the capability of producing 2 Kilowatts of electric power with ZERO emissions using sun light as the only fuel.

Li-ion Motors Corp is capable of 170 MPH with acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 3.4 seconds with zero emission. With a 114 inch wheel-base and 78 inch wide footprint, the Inizio is stable at high speeds. Both the WAVE II and Inizio are in the process of DOT Certification. The company is planning to release both vehicles by year's end. Li-ion will promote the design and development of the Sky Power Solutions Residential Solar system.

“We are excited about this alliance and eagerly look to the bright future of residential power generation,” said Stacey Fling, president of Li-ion Motors Corp, in a statement.

The residential solar power station will have the ability to reduce the average user's monthly electric grid consumption by up to 30-40 percent with zero emissions and a zero carbon footprint using only the power of the sun.

The Sky Power Solutions system can be installed in most backyards taking less than one third of the space of conventional Solar panels. The entry level price point for a Sky Power Solutions-Concentrated Solar electric system is estimated to be $5,000 at release. Multiple units can be combined for increased capacity.

Recently, Sky Power Solutions announced its financial results for the three and nine months ended April 30, 2011. The company incurred a net loss of $121,166 during the three months ended April 30, 2011.
