Initial consumer reaction to the G-1500 from Genesis Electronics Group has been very positive.

The company began marketing its Solar Powered Charger designed for the iPhone 4 at Monticello based AT&T (News - Alert) retail location in New York.

The store offered the G-1500 for $79.99 and was able to sell about 25 percent of the inventory within the first few days.

What makes the product so attractive is its ability to offer the combined benefits of both solar and conventional charging plus protection to the iPhone (News - Alert) 4. Genesis has experienced good reviews through its first AT&T retail location and is also selling the product online. In addition, it is actively pursuing additional high-profile retail outlets.

"The consumer response to the G-1500 is very promising," said Ed Dillon, CEO of Genesis Electronics Group. "All of our research indicates that a strong demand is there for a reliable dual-function charger for the iPhone 4. The fact that our G-1500 also provides some protection to the phone is also a big benefit that definitely appeals to consumers. Marketing the G-1500 in physical locations that sell iPhones and cater to tech-savvy smartphone users is a well-conceived strategy that is proving successful."

"Our feedback regarding sales of the G-1500 is very exciting and serves to clearly support our marketing plans. This applies not only to the G-1500 and other solar-powered chargers for smartphones that Genesis will introduce, but also indicates consumer interest and acceptance of solar-powered accessories for a variety of hand-held and portable electronic devices,” said Raymond F. Purdon, Genesis' chairman. “Our company positioning, supported by significant patent holdings and licensing for solar powered sources, is proving to be correctly targeted."
