East Coast Diversified Corporation, a company recently acquired by EarthSearch Communications, Inc., a provider of proprietary technology enabling wireless communication between GPS and RFID, signed an order of purchase and shipment with NairaNet Technology, Ltd. for a wireless pilot project with Nigeria's Ministry of Education to improve security and class attendance at schools nationwide.

The School Connect project was initiated by Kenneth Adoki, the Chairman/CEO of NairaNET Technology.

"Education is the future of our nation, providing real time class attendance information to both school authority and parent creates a parent/school awareness that can only enhance the educational process," said Adoki.

EarthSearch Solar claims that its Powered GPS and RF readers avoid power shortage issues, which is quoted to be a common occurrence in Nigeria.

As per the agreement, EarthSearch "LogiBoxx" integrated GPS/RFID system, in conjunction with NairaNet Technology, has developed a network to wirelessly monitor student attendance and access control at Nigerian schools nationwide.

The LogiBoxx technology is said to provide school authorities with not only access to real-time information on a particular student's class attendance, but also allow them to experience enhanced access control and security at schools to prevent kidnappings which has become an epidemic within the African nation.

"We are delivering a innovative solution powered by Green Energy," said Kayode Aladesuyi, chief executive officer at ECDC said in a statement.

"Our technology and the solutions we offer can be a game changer in improving access control and security, while improving class attendance and enhance learning in Africa's largest economy. In addition to Nigeria, we will also look to deploy these student monitoring systems for other school districts around the world to showcase how they can implement our technology to combat poor student attendance and security," Aladesuyi added.
