Solarflare, the company pioneering 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), and Torrey Point Group, LLC, a leading network architecture consultancy that provides customers with design, implementation and support for their next-generation networks, have signed a reseller agreement. The agreement with Torrey Point Group will help increase Solarflare's (News - Alert) ability to further reach customers in the financial, high-performance computing (HPC), cloud computing and server virtualization markets in the U.S.
The partnership will also enable Solarflare to better pursue trading firms, who need to build low-latency network clusters, and data center managers wanting to improve I/O in their server virtualization infrastructures.
"We continue to build strong partnerships with resellers that focus on network integration best practices, helping us capture a larger share of the 10GbE server adapter market, locate valuable customers worldwide and further grow our revenue," said Mike Smith, vice president and general manager of host solutions at Solarflare, in a press release. "We are happy to begin a new long-term strategic relationship with Torrey Point, which will not only extend our customer reach but ensure we are providing the best value and service."
"More and more of our customers are looking for data center and high-speed networking solutions, and Solarflare can provide us the performance we require to meet these new demands," said Steve Fazio, CEO of Torrey Point, in a statement. "This partnership with Solarflare is key in helping us reach an important and influential segment of end customers and IT buyers."
Solarflare's VAR program, which was launched in September 2010, enables channel partners to generate and close new business at an accelerated pace. The partners are divided into three categories — Platinum, Gold and Silver, and can quote and purchase through Solarflare's two-tiered distribution channel. They can also receive direct support from the company's technical support and sales channel teams.
To date, Solarflare has shipped its SFN5122F 10GbE dual-port SFP+ adapter to over 100 customers and 150 locations. The SFN5122F is installed with its Open Onload application acceleration middleware in every major equities exchange worldwide.
