Through a recent press release, California based Sunvalley Solar, Inc. announced the signing of a $1.3 million deal with one of the region’s largest grower, packer and shipper of multi-colored peppers, Prime Time Produce.

Prime Time Produce grows pepper all through the year both in the open fields, as well as in the hot houses. Its other seasonal produces includes, tomatoes, watermelons, green beans and corn. Prime

Time Produce is partners in various projects with industry stalwarts like Anthony Vineyards and Ocean Mist. The company has a diverse distribution network to supply its products throughout North American market. Prime Time Produce's products are available at some famous retailers like Albertsons, Costco, Safeway, Kroger and others.

Under the contract, Sunvalley is going to install a 285 kilowatt solar power system, comprised of 3,000 solar panels from Tianwei Solarfilms and one 260KW solar inverter from PV Powered for the Coachella, Calif.-based Prime Time Produce.

According to Sunvalley, the solar system will be generating 437,952 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. During the peak months of May through October the system is expected to generate surplus power. The surplus will be credited with Imperial Irrigation District Utility and will make up for the winter months when it will be less sunny.

Sunvalley Solar’s comprehensive offerings include solar energy technology, system design, installation, equipments and technical support. The company has been helping electrical contractors, builders, homeowners, businesses/commercial buildings, and government entities in lowering of utility bills, reducing environmental impacts, and increasing energy reliability and independence through solar energy.

In a press release, Sunvalley officials noted that the latest contract with Prime Time Produce is supported by $630,000 of solar incentive rebates from the local utility company and $393,000 of Federal Tax Cash Grants from the Federal Treasury Department. They further informed that the installation for Prime Time Produce will begin in early 2011.

In September, TMCnet reported that Sunvalley Solar, Inc. forged alliance with CED GreenTech, a Clean Energy (News - Alert) distribution company. In an effort to reduce environmental impact and energy costs, the two companies joined hands for widespread solar power distribution in the US. Under the contract, the companies agreed to provide renewable solar energy equipment and services to electrical contractors, builders, homeowners, businesses/commercial buildings and government entities.
