BioShaft Water Technology, a California-based designer and manufacturer of domestic, municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, reportedly won multiple industrial and domestic contracts in the Middle East.

The contracts require BioShaft to install its innovative wastewater treatment and recycling systems across three countries in the region.

One contract involves the installation of a residential/institutional T-MBBR system in the King Abdullah New Financial District at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, expected to treat 132,100 gallons of daily domestic wastewater from a housing complex. The system will demonstrate how BioShaft technology is odor free and uses less space and energy, the company explained in a press release.

Another Saudi Arabian project involves the installation of a temporary, packaged containerized T-MBBR system at a high rise tower in the city of Jeddah. The system treats domestic wastewater coming from this building, and has a capacity of 55,000 gallons per day (gpd).

The third contract has been awarded by a Dubai, UAE based Development Company called EMMAR Middle East. This project involves the installation of a mobile temporary system to treat domestic wastewater for a residential development not connected to a municipal sewer network.

Al-Manama, Bahrain-based Delmon Poultry asked the company to install a packaged above-ground concrete Modular Anoxic Aerobic Digester (MAAD) system to recycle poultry processing high strength industrial wastewater for reuse in irrigation.

Bashar Amin, BioShaft Vice-President of Operations, claimed the BioShaft solution is perfect for the treatment and recycling of wastewater in this region.

“Our Turbo Moving Bed Bio-Reactor (T-MBBR) is gaining significant recognition among developers, consulting engineers, contractors and government institutions and increasingly being adopted as the preferred wastewater treatment technology in the Middle East,” Amin noted in a statement. “This positive momentum is a strong indicator of the superiority of our technology.”

BioShaft recently won a contract from International Home Finance & Development, LLC (IHFD). This project was funded by The Army Corp of Engineers, and shipped a domestic system (T-MBBR) for a hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, treating 150,000 gpd.

BioShaft also expanded its design engineering, manufacturing and technical support in Southern California as part of its Far East Business Plan. The company’s upgraded Web site reflects its commitment to "Green Innovation in Wastewater Treatment."

BioShaft Water Technology signed three contracts earlier this month for the installation of wastewater treatment systems in the United States, Japan and the Middle East.
