North American Power offers customers of Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) an opportunity to “turn kilowatts into kindness,” according to a respective promotional ad.
The service will upgrade customers to 25% renewable energy upon switching and extend the option of going 100% renewable. According to a release, over 200,000 Illinois residents have switched to a retail electricity supplier. “Yet many remain confused about electric choice,” said North American Power CEO Kerry Breibart, who explained that switching from utility to an electric service is like switching cable companies or phone services.
Customers should pick the service that provides packages that are the most affordable and offer incentives that they find the most desirable.
“As we enter the Illinois market, part of our goal is to educate consumers about the benefits of switching from the utility,” she said. “Customers can choose their cable company and their cell phone provider while customizing a benefits package that works for their lifestyle – why should their electricity be any different?"
North American Power has ways to make their services affordable through sustainable income opportunities that come with the referral program. The company routinely pays customers cash bonuses to those whose referrals have led to new customer account activations.
Aside from cash, there are non-traditional incentives, including increased access to renewable energy and the opportunity to donate to charities.
