Employers and prospective job seekers have been invited to the Sustainability & Clean Technology Job Fair that is to be held on September 19, 2011. This invitation is from The Arizona Energy Consortium and IKOLOJI Sustainability Collaborative, who jointly provide for the Sonoran Sustainable Building Advisor Program (SBAP). The event is scheduled to be held at the Wyndham Hotel located at 50 East Adams Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004.

The event will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Big name employers such as APS, Empire CAT, Green Monster, Kelly Services, Manpower and Power-One (News - Alert) have already registered themselves for the event. Prospective job seekers looking at careers in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency as well as utility and/or sustainability should ideally come to the event armed with research knowledge on the employers for these fields as well as the positions that are open.

In a release, Leslie Lindo, President, IKOLOJI Sustainability Collaborative says, "Sonoran SBAP, a founding member of the Arizona Energy Consortium, along with Maricopa Workforce Connections and Phoenix Workforce Connection, is elated to have the opportunity to work with the Consortium's partners to further our goal of inspiring insightful solutions to our area's sustainability issues. We not only assist in providing quality training and education but in matching those seeking employment in the areas of sustainable building with employers needing their skills."

The Arizona State Energy Sector Partnership (SESP) came into existence thanks to a Federal Department of Labor grant. The SESP aimed at creating strategies that would help integrate the workforce needs of specific green energy industries based in Arizona. The SESP was split region-wise into the Northern, Central and Southern sectors. As part of its efforts in administering its portion of the SESP, The Arizona Energy Consortium was created. Today it is spearheaded by the Arizona Technology Council.

Steven G. Zylstra, President and CEO, Arizona Technology Council says, "This job fair is a great way for job seekers and company representatives of the growing number of sustainability and clean technology companies in Arizona to network and form connections. As the leader of the Arizona Energy Consortium, the Arizona Technology Council is proud to support this effort to grow industries supporting solar, energy and utilities across Arizona."
