China Energy Recovery Inc., a specialist in waste heat energy recovery systems, held a gala event on Jan 8 to mark the completion of the phase one of a new manufacturing and design facility within the Yizheng Automobile Industrial Park in Yangzhou City on Jan. 8.

Located near a commercially navigable tributary of the Yangtze River, the facility sprawls over 15-acre site. The Jan 8 event event also marked the commencement of the Phase-Two construction at the site. According to CER officials, after the phase two expansion, the facility will be triple the current size. Also, with phase two completed, CER's design and manufacturing capacity is expected to exceed its original Shanghai-based capacity by a factor of 10.

The event was attended by a 300 strong crowd comprising of CER employees and management, customers, investors and state and local officials.

Among the attendees were John Song, president of Sewon Cellontech Co.; Song Qinhua, president of Jiansu Sopo Chemical Share-Holding Co.; Liu Xiangfang, president of Ningbo Xinfu Chemical Technology Co.; and Xue Guanshen, Asia region president of MECS, a unit of DuPont Co. Also, attending were Cheng Xi, the Mayor of Yangzhou City, and National People's Congress representatives Ma Jiading and Chen Enping. The ceremony was hosted by CER Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Qinghuan Wu.

In a press release, CER officials anticipated that the new facility will significantly expand CER's operations. The new facility is expected to enable the company to accept new orders and speed up delivery of large-scale waste heat systems for new and retro-fitted industrial plants located in China and overseas. This, according to the company, is going to help it increase the number and value of orders in its pipeline.

Few months back CER announced winning of two major contracts worth of $75 million in total. The projects are to be delivered in 2011. This is expected to give the company a revenue, more than three times than that of 2009.

“The future is very bright for CER. With this new facility, we have the ability to better meet already strong demand from our fast-growing customer base and the capability to expand our business into new profitable areas,” CER Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Qinghuan, Wu  said.

“CER now has the production capacity it needs to support its short-term design and manufacturing needs. And we are very excited to embark on Phase-Two construction as we will require that capacity very soon in support the company's long-term growth in China and overseas,” Wu added.

Last year, in February, CER was granted a 10-year patent covering its cement kiln forced-circulated waste heat recovery boiler technology.

The patent was authorized by the State Intellectual Property Office of People's Republic of China and granted to CER Energy Recovery on Jan. 20 of this year.
