A new solar hybrid outdoor DC power system has been launched by high efficiency power system provider Eltek Valere (News - Alert). According to the announcement made by Eltek Valere, the power system has been specifically designed for the Indian telecom market.

While the Indian telecom market is large, the majority of the infrastructure is located in places with either no or poor grid power availability. Power is provided to keep the infrastructure up and running with the help of over 300,000 diesel generators running daily.

Apart from representing an enormous cost, this also has a significant environmental impact. This challenge has been addressed by the solar hybrid system from Eltek Valere, who said it offers a unique, total solution using solar energy. The user of the generators is augmented and optimized by this system.

In a release, Krishna Pant, country manager for Eltek Valere in India said, “Compared to traditional use of generators we are very proud to be able to offer our customers an operational saving of up to 80 percent on energy cost.”

Eltek Valere has a long experience in the Indian market. The company said it has had unrivaled performance in terms of energy efficiency, heat loss, solar panel utilization, lightning/surge protection, modularity and reliability, delivered by the company’s high efficiency Flatpack2 HE Solar power system. The solar hybrid system is based on this system and the company’s experience in India.

Each Flatpack2 HE Solar converter is connected with four to six solar panels. The solar power is therefore converted into controlled 48VDC for supply to telecom equipment. The advanced Smartpack monitoring and control unit are at the center of the solution. The system is therefore optimized in terms of battery performance, network management, and diesel consumption on hybrid sites. Additional Flatpack2 HE rectifiers can also be controlled where applicable.

Eltek Valere has its Indian headquarters located in Gurgaon. Nearly 2,200 people are employed by the company across the globe. The company has also expanded into renewable markets like photovoltaic grid inverters and chargers for electric vehicles.
