Avnet Express, a part of Avnet Electronics Marketing that offers electronic components, associated design-chain and supply-chain services to electronic original equipment manufacturers and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) providers, has announced to stock a comprehensive range of electric vehicle charging connectors (EVCs) provided by ITT Interconnect Solutions. The EVC Series is immediately available with the company for same day shipping.

The EVC Series by ITT (News - Alert) leverages the head-end power (HEP) spring contact technology and includes the SAE J1772 Level II charging station connector featuring 75-amps capacity and a charging time of less than four hours. The component has been rated by Underwriters Laboratories (News - Alert), Inc. The EVC Series SAE J1772 connector solution had specially been designed for electric vehicle charging applications, and is able to achieve Level I and II charging from a low-end range of 15A/120V to a high-end range of 75A/240V. It provides a number of charging options such as 75A/240V, 30A/240V, 15A/240V and 15A/120V.

Enterprises can deploy the new J1772 Level I and II electric vehicle charging coupler and inlet connectors in a variety of solutions, such as electric passenger vehicles, home charging units, public infrastructure charging units, roadside assistance trucks, electric fleet vehicles and electric motorcycles. Equipped with enhanced features such as fingertip protection on the power and ground pin contacts, the inlet connector leverages ITT’s VEAM CIR Series backshells to include an effective cable management system.

At present, Avnet has been stocks five versions of the connector solution, which are EVC-C-15A-300S-20, a 15 amp, 120 volt rated SAE J1772 Level 1 coupler assembly with 20 feet of cable; EVC-C-15A-600S-20, a 15 amp, 240 volt rated SAE J1772 Level 2 coupler assembly with 20 feet of cable; EVC-C-30A-600S-20, a 30 amp, 240 volt rated SAE J1772 Level 2 coupler assembly with 20 feet of cable; EVC-C-75A-600S-20, a 75 amp, 240 volt rated SAE J1772 Level 2 coupler assembly with 20 feet of cable and EVC-I-75A-600P-5, a 75 amp, 240 volt rated SAE J1772 Level 2 inlet assembly with five feet of cable.

“We’ve seen an increase in demand for green technologies, like the ones offered by ITT. Avnet is committed to ensuring that our inventory levels meet our customers’ demands,” commented Beth Ely, senior vice president of Avnet Express, in a press release. “Having this product both on our shelves and available online helps accelerate our customers’ time-to-market.”

“Avnet has been a valued franchised distributor of ITT Cannon products for more than 60 years. Creating the new EVC Series electric vehicle connector stocking package with Avnet ensures our customers will not only receive a high-quality interconnect solution, but also exceptional customer service and support,” said James Herman, vice president of sales at ITT Interconnect Solutions.

Earlier this month, Avnet Express announced the immediate availability of the latest power management integrated circuits from Texas Instruments (News - Alert), including the TPS82671 and TPS84620 products.
