Chinese exporter of recreational vehicles, Kandi Technologies, claimed that it is in the works to expand consumer pure EV sales to a second city, the nearby major metropolis of Hangzhou and its efforts are proving to be fruitful. The company’s home base is at Jinhua.

The company claimed that it has 50 kinds of vehicles in five categories named as Electric Vehicle, Special Purpose Vehicle, All Terrain Vehicle, Utility Vehicle and Recreational Vehicle. All its products have good quality, reached national standards and strictly conform to the ISO90001:2000 and other certifications in the U.S. and European countries.

Recently, the city of Hangzhou unveiled plans to introduce more than 20,000 new energy vehicles to the populace by the end of 2012. Kandi along with its partners offered to help in that initiative with its EV efforts. It is right now in discussions with government officials in Hangzhou, less than 80 miles from Jinhua.

Hangzhou is one of the five original pilot cities selected by the Chinese government to be eligible for national subsidies to promote the sale of new energy vehicles. Kandi is at the moment putting forth the major advantages of the affordability and reliability of Kandi's pure EV, as well as Kandi's innovative "Express Change" service model to the authorities of Hangzhou government.

The problem faced by EV sales is its high cost, short driving range, long charging time, inadequate changing facilities and the disposal of used up batteries. Kandi claimed that it will be able to overcome these obstacles Hangzhou just like it did in Jinhua. The company will be building a battery "charging farm" in Jinhua with the joint venture partner State Grid Power Corporation safely charges batteries and distributes and collects them. With its knowhow, experience, patented technology and strong partnership, the company is working hard to capture a significant share of projected new EV sales in Hangzhou.
